Prague Castle_ValentinesWe barely have had time to relax after Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, and another cool holiday is coming up – sweet Valentine’s Day! Do you already have a cool idea for Valentine’s Day gift? Would like to do something special this year? How about a Valentines trip?  Sound interesting? Then consider Valentines 2017 in Prague! We picked five fun activities which will make your Valentine´s Day not only romantic, but also fun!

#1 Pack Your Ice Skating Skills

There are several ice skating rings in Prague. But for your list of to-dos in Prague on Valentine's Day, we recommend the ice skating ring under the Źižkov TV tower. You can rent all you will need there and warm up at the outside grill area. After ice skating, you can go for a romantic dinner at the rotating restaurant in TV Tower or watch the sun set at the observatory. The TV tower is in a residential area, popular among expats, but far from the beaten tourist path, so you will have a chance to explore the city further.

#2 Pack a Padlock and Permanent Marker

Like other romantic cities, Prague has its famous padlock bridge. The Prague Bridge of love connects Kampa Island with the rest of Lesser Town. This activity is already banned in a couple of cities across Europe because the weight of the padlocks is too much for the bridge! It is possible that Prague will also ban it in the coming years, so do not miss your chance to “lock your love” while you still can. Just, please, do not throw the key to the channel – the fish do not like it very much. This bridge stands very close to the famous John Lennon Wall, where you can write short poem, or draw a heart.

#3 Pack a Good Camera

Prague zoo appears more and more often on the Prague visitor’s to-do list. And for a good reason! It has been rated as the 4th best zoo in the whole world! So instead of buying another pink bear as a Valentine´s Day gift, buy a ticket to the Prague zoo to watch some real bears! On Valentine´s Day the zoo is hosting a fair with good Czech food.

#4 Pack Your Running Shoes

Couples, families and friends – everyone is welcome to join already traditional 5 km run through Stromovka Park  taking place on Sunday 12th February. The run is a relaxed event without official timing. It is organized by Running Mall, and the registration is for free! The run starts at 11 am, so do not be shy and surprise your sporty loved one with a cool running gift experience :)

#5 Pack Bird Food

What can be more romantic then walking along the river and stopping here and there to feed swans and ducks? The best places to do it are the Prague Islands. Keep your Trdelník for yourself and give the birds something more appropriate for them (dry bread, white paestry without salt, oats seeds, dry corn). After you can also hop on the river and try some of the many cruises. We like the “classic” old steam boats. Many boats offer a special Valentine´s Day program and romantic dinner.

Final note: Most importantly pack your love, good mood and taste for exploring for your Valentines 2017 trip! Happy Valentine´s Day! See you in Prague!
