Prague has lots of great cafés, but if you are in Prague with kids, it can get quite tiring watching out for them while you try to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Our aim is to guide you to the cafés that welcome children and have something for them to do. We do not aim at providing a complete list of Cafés but we want to introduce quality places that are definitely worth visiting and where you might even get to finish your coffee or meal while it is still warm.
Do you want to enjoy a place with a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and food, friendly service (by English speaking staff) and a kid-friendly attitude? Café POINTA is a great choice. This café has a great location. It is situated close to Letná park with its various playgrounds. It's a non-smoking café that offers a safe and clean children’s corner with a small play kitchen. This area is really well stocked with lots of plastic foods. If you have smaller kids then there is also plenty of space for strollers. We find this place to be a terrific spot for mothers to meet each other with their babies.
Families are very much welcomed in Café PAVILON. It is located in the very heart of Havlíčkovy sady, which is a large English style park. The café offers a small area for kids with a table, chairs and a few toys. The best time of a year for visiting this lovely place is definitely in summer because there are tables outside and kids can run freely in the outdoor area of the café.
A great place to know about when you are near Stromovka park (Prague 7) is Café VOZOVNA. With lots of outside tables, plus a nearby playground, the fun can continue for the kids even while parents take a break and enjoy their coffees and light meals.
If someone suggests BAREVNÁ KAVÁRNA na Londýnské (Prague 2), do not frown, but thank them for thinking of your kids. The décor is cool sophistication – despite the level of sophistication, families are very much welcomed. Staff is very nice and really superb with kids. There is a kids corner filled with small tables and chairs, blocks, etc. During nice sunny days, you can sit in the outdoor area next to a large grassy area. The Friendly staff will probably offer you to put a blanket on a grass for kids to play on.
Kafé KAKAO, in Prague 2, is an ideal venue and dream place for families. It is located in Americká Street, close to a nice park. This non-smoking Café offers a small children’s corner with many toys, books and blackboards. You can enjoy great coffee, beautiful homemade cakes, salad and savoury dishes while your kids participate in regular art, ceramic or creative workshops. Great food and pleasant staff, who is very friendly to kids, will guarantee your satisfaction.
Final note from us: We hope you find our article inspiring and you will enjoy great moments while traveling with kids.
