Caffé Vedle (Coffee Next Door) is located at Valentinská 20 by the Staroměstká metro station, about 5 minute walk from Old Town Square. Right next to the café is Paneria Bakery. It looks small, but it has two floors (ground floor and basement). It has smoking and non-smoking areas, so everyone are welcome. It is suitable even for larger groups, and there is no problem with booking the whole floor.
Vedle serves Illy products. We tried their latté, and it was really one of the best lattés we ever had. It was so creamy and rich. The taste really forces you to slow down and enjoy it and only for 66Kc. If you do not feel like coffee or tea, or you stop by in the evening, do not worry you can also pick from a large selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages. In the mornings, they offer a breakfast menu with yogurt or a croissant. Their very friendly staff speaks perfect English and is more than willing to help you out with picking of the best coffee for you.
But this café is not only about drinks. It is also an art gallery. When we visited the walls were full of black and white pictures of Prague and a few avant-garde pictures of nature. The exhibitions change from time to time, so the interior might be different on your second visit. All pictures are for sale too!
Overall great coffee at an amazing location. Fabulous place to rest your tired legs from sightseeing!
